I have a 2002 trailblazer showing a service airbag light. My code reader says open circuit front loop, 80044. I suspect the front impact sensor but can’t seem to find it just looking under the vehicle. Does someone know where to look? I have a shop manual on the way but wanted to jump right in and get er fixed. Help please!

The code might be referring to a clock spring in the steering column of some models that interconnects data between the steering column and steering wheel. Also one should deactivate the airbag before working on this.-MSC-
