So I got the code for air injection problems. I replaced the check valve. Replaced the air filter. Replaced the air pump (smog pump) relay. Took the pump to a local parts store and we hooked a battery to it and it started running, so I assume it is good? What to do next?

I'm at the end and I have to get this vehicle through inspection. Could the air pump be bad even though it started up when we put power to it? Are there fuses that could be the issue? I've seen something about the O2 sensor; could it be that?

Please help.

Fixed

Well I learned that in addition to the relay by the pump there is a relay and fuse in the front fuse box under the hood. I swapped a similar relay from the AC to test and it started working. The professional with the proper testing equipment said I needed a pump and check valve. Turns out it was a 20 dollar relay. Anyways, problem solved.
