Ahh the dreaded Cluster, and some other issues..

Alright...bought my 04 Trailblazer LT in 05 used, low mileage. About a year ago is when the problems started happening. ABS and Airbag lights were on, and just about always on every time. On a rare occasion they may have gone off. A few times I'd get those off and the Battery light on. Or just the Security light on. So..to make this shorter, fast forward to now.

I have 74,500 miles, and a constant headache...

Still the same ABS/Airbag combo, however it progressed to also including the Brake, seatbelt and Service 4WD light flashing on and off randomly and dinging at me. Then the "Unknown Driver" joined the party as well as the volt gauge dropping when it changed to said Unknown Driver, then back to Driver 2 and gauge back up.

Next up, noticed that inbetween when it did that, at times the oil gauge, volt gauge, gas gauge and temp gauge would all drop to nothing, the DIC would read a --- range, before it kicked back over.

So, replaced the ignition switch and got the part from AutoZone (was told that was a bad idea, so may order switch from Dealer next just to see). Worked perfect for about 6 hours. Except that when I had my A/C on the car would idle rough for a few startups.

On the rare (altho more often now), every so often when I start the car I have the Airbag light go on, but nothing else works. It's lit up (which is always lit up anyway since I have a bad Ambient Light Sensor) but none of the gauges work at all, and the DIC is dead. So I pulled fuses 22 and 24, replaced them and they all work again. Still sometimes after a few startups I get the dead cluster.

So, 2 days ago, the car wouldn't start at all, jumped it, no problems. Tried again 4 hours later..dead. Replaced the battery (Was about time, had the original AC Delco battery which was about 8-9 years old) While disconnected checked Ignition Switch again just to make sure I didn't screw up the teeth alignment. All was good.

Lights back on again....rough idle with A/C on again.

So, I plan on getting the Trottle Body cleaned by my buddy who own his own shop (thank god for that...couple of beers and its all good). But what to do about the cluster....i'm at wits end, don't know where to begin. Seen looking thru some threads to try the grounds, but I'm terrible with cars so I wouldn't know where to begin or what to look for.

Sorry for the rant, but I appreciate any and all feedback! Thanks!

Forgot to mention also it appears the Oil gauge likes to start slowly, but kicks back to 40 soon after startup and between 40 and 60 when driving, but it did say Oil Pressure Low then Stop Engine. I know its getting oil and theres no problem with that. The car runs fine 95% of the time.
