So I just tracked down the reason why my AC blower motor was not turning on. Dug under the dash and the red and black connector that connects to the blower motor doesn't have a real good connection. If I wiggle it a little bit the blower turns off. And then if I put it back in a good position it will stay on.

The problem is the wires get very very hot to the touch. Could the heat be caused by not having a good connection? Or would that be an unrelated separate issue?

Thanks in advance

Yes. It is directly related. That poor connection must be repaired otherwise it may get hot enough to destroy the connectors and melt any plastic there.
