Hello all,

I am new to the club. My wife and I are looking to buy a TBSS. We were at the dealer yesterday and saw a brand new 08' TB 3SS. It had 25 miles and is loaded with navigaton and a rear entertainment center. My question is:

This particular 3SS has a rather large DVD screen. I would say the screen is as big as a 15 inch laptop. It has a label on it that says "Farenheight"

I have seen other TBSS' where the screen is about half the size.

Are there two different size screens options?

Thanks,

Mark

That is an aftermarket overhead DVD.. The brand is kinda cheap.. TBSS factory DVD are 6" or 6.5" and it is made by Panasonic or DELPHI.. Which means that DVD is aftermarket and would not be covered under GM Warranty.

Heres my Factory overhead

Thanks for the reply,

Yeah, your DVD player is the exact one I had on my 2005 Yukon Danali. The dealer never mentioned it. I wonder if this truck had a DVD player and it got stolen off the lot of if they installed one on their own. Either way I no longer want this truck. I don't like buying new cars that have been tampered or modified in any way.

I will keep on looking.

Sometimes the dealer will give you the same warranty on the aftermarket accessories as the oem just depend on the dealer. I do a few installs for some of our local dealers and they require us to be certified to work on their cars. Farenheit is a lowwer quality dvd player but the OEM one is way over priced. I never get added on accessories from the dealer I much rather get some nice aftermarket products that I find are usually better and cheaper in price. Fred

I personally like Myron and Davis, Bravoview, vizualogic but the major brands are good also. On the cheap end I like Micro because they give a good warranty, you can proably find one for about $350. As for the size I say nothing bigger than a 12" I myself like 10" monitor best. If your screen is to big it feels like its resting on your shoulder espeacially if your a big person. Plus the resolution is better on smaller screens. Fred
