I am looking to put 265 50 20's on my 2003 (4X4)stock envoy. I have a set of american racing chrome prism rims with a 30mm offset.Does anyone know if these will fit? I have also read of peolpe going with 275 45 20.Need opinions.

The 265/50 is going to be nearly 30.5 inches in height, right at the limit of what fits under the upper ball-joint......that's the height the off-road guys are using and they can get a bit more with a lift and/or spacers. You haven't mentioned if you're lowered or planning to lower, if so, I wouldn't even think about that size. I'd suggest 275/45 or 265/45, which are closer to the stock 29.5 inch diameter.

275/45-20 is about the same tire height as the stock 245/65-17. Just a little over an inch wider too.

My first set of 20s was 265/50-20. Hated them. Like 255/50-20 much better. A wider tire just doesn't work for me.

I think I would prefer the ride of a 50 series over a 45. Just not sure if the 265 50 20 will fit.

You will never notice the difference between a 275/45/20 and a 265/50/20 as far as ride quality. The tire brand and model has more to do with the ride then the size when they are that close. I went from a Michelin 245/65/17 to the Hankook 275/45/20 and cannot tell the difference in ride quality.

I have had both 265/50/20 and 275/45/20 - They both rode about the same.

The diiference isn't much in width and height. I know 3 members on here run 265/50/20 on their TBSS and Love them.

Hankook is the offical tire of the Mid-Atlantic Crew. 5 members are running them and love them.

Tried my rims on truck today and it doesn't look like I will have room under the upper ball joint to fit the 265 50 20. Booked an appointment to test fit on Thursday. Will see what happens.Might have to go with the 275 45 20.
