I've been waiting for the weather to break here in Indiana before replacing the fuel pump. I pushed a little too far the other day and ran out of gas. I put some in, and it still refused to start.

After a few minutes of trying to start, something weird happened. The chimes stopped working, it stopped cranking, and now the radio refuses to power down when I turn off the key and open the door.

I replaced the ignition switch, but there is no change. I know that the fuel pump may be shot, but even with a jump, it refuses to crank and the power locks refuse to operate. The radio is aftermarket.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Fuses

Re: are all the fuses good?

I checked the two ignition fuses. The guy at the parts store said there was no way to check the starter relay, so I'm replacing that today.

I don't see how fuses would cause the radio to stay on though.
