Did they upgrade or update the fuel tank in 2005?
-is it best to replace the whole fuel tank new?
-is it best to find a junkyard 05 tank?
- or is it a good idea to get the dorman repair kit/ roll over valve?

HOW is it leaking?

If it drips from underneath, consider tightening the hose clamps.

If it "burps" fuel out by the filler opening, you need the hose-and-check-valve. On my non-EXT, it's about a fifteen minute repair, lying on my back in the driveway. The hose is notched, clock the notch in the hose with the rib on the tank. Tighten the clamps. Done.

Wouldn't hurt to verify the tank venting, too.
