I have a 2003 l6 4l60e LTZ with 108k miles. The 3-4 clutch went bad in the trans and I'm looking for a replacement. I've been told that only one from an 03 will fit but I find that hard to believe. I know with the 42re in jeeps, 93-98 42re's will swap but some require you to use your old TC and plate for it to mate in the car. My question is, which transmissions should I be on the look for? I know envoys are able to be used as well.

If there's a chart or a write up somewhere, feel free to direct me there. I've searched multiple times and couldn't find anything.

Research these following vehicles:
Chevy Colorado
GMC Envoy
Buick Raineer
Isuzu Ascender
Oldsmobile Bravada
Saab 9-7x....the x meaning 4x4 (but I think it might be the full time 4x4 awd system like what's in the TrailBlazer SS's, which wont work.

I thought all TrailBlazers came with 4L60E transmissions with the exceptions of those that had the 6.0 liter Corvette motor in them (SS models)

It may fit, but more importantly, it will not work with the existing computer controlled modules. Also, there would be a problem interfacing the engine to the transmission.

If you need more information or assistance, please begin a new thread including year, make model, engine, mileage, trim level, what the problem is, what you have done so far, Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), etc.

This way we are not dealing with a dead, zombie thread.

Will a motor out of a 2002 trailblazer LS fit in a 2006 model
I've used a 2004 suburban iron block 5.3 2wd and swapped it into a 2006 envoy denali aluminum block 4wd and it's in there right now, running and driving..why would the control modules be different? All I did was xhange the camshaft timing gear and timing cover from the 06 onto the 04 to use the stock 06 timing cover-mounted cam sensor, and tapped a couple holes on the side of the 04 block to bolt the stock 06 knock sensors to( in fact, one side had a suitable casting area without drilling/tapping) and it works fine. Leave your 04 (and 02 also, they should be the same engine) valley cover knock sensor harness unplugged, no harm, no foul. I didn't mess with cpu or do a relearn or anything. The oil pan had to be swapped between the 2 engines of course...and The oil dipstick inserted into the oil pan edge on 06 denali and in the block on 04, and in my case I ended up with 2 dipstick holes, 1 in the oil pan(06 oil pan) and another in the block(04 iron block location) but since i swapped the pans i had to use the 06 dipstick, and i broke off and pinched the iron block dipstick tube down close to the block so it wouldnt leak. Am I missing something about the engine module comment above or did I just get waaayy lucky somehow???? Or maybe it's different for 4200 engines???? But that shouldn't be a problem either unless we are maybe talking about a mid-year change in 06 to the 07-type changes???? I've put 05 4200 into an 02 before...is there something I'm missing? Your swap should work fine.
