I can't really seem to get a fix on why a 2005 Alternator can't be fit on a 2006 Trailblazer 4.2L LS. Is it the amps? The bracket? The connector? 2006 Trailblazer is out on an Island as the 2007-09 also do not retro.

I want to fit one of those HO Alts but most only go to 2005.

I say go for it. I was told that 03 parts wouldn't work on my 06. I got a hole front diff and disconnect and cv shafts. they work fine. don't c why a alternator should be any different.

Thanks for the input

Yeah I just don't get it.. What is the big deal. I searched "the google" on differences on 4.2l 2005 and 4.2l 2006 and nothing comes back. What the heck did they do in 2006 to that engine? I just wonder why the guys selling the alternators don't include 2006 too. What gives

All they did to the engines between 05 and 06 is a few different internal parts from what ive been told. And some of the externals have different connectors
