So I made an oops, my brother in law and I changed the oil pump on my trailblazer. In order to get the oil pan off we took the rack and pinion loose. When putting it back together I turned the steering wheel to get it aligned with the wheels before reattaching the steering shaft to the rack and pinion. (I know now that I should've secured the steering wheel in place before disconnecting the steering shaft). Now the car is showing service stabilitrak message and lights when turning the steering wheel left about 75% of the way, no lights or message when turning right even to full lock. Mechanic said scanner was showing a code for swps fault. I've read in places that there sensor can be recalibrated, is this only possible with a scanner or is there a manual way to do it? Don't want to spend the money on a new sensor if it's just out of calibration from my stupidity.
