My eyes aren't what they used to be, how do those plastic parts come off?
Previous post says pry off with screw driver, everytime I do that I break some cheap plastic part and the repair is stalled until I can find the usually hard to find parts? Really just pry them off?

Which plastic part are you talking about?
The gas struts supporting my lift gate have metal retaining clips, pry off at the notch that's there and push them back on from the end (wear gloves for that.)
