Here is my problem. My 04 tb I6 will not start after filling up. It does not matter if its at 1/4 of a tank or almost empty. I have to hit the gas and eventually it will start up. I have read on here alot of people think its the fuel filter or fuel pump.
I just had both replaced and its still doing it. My next thing I just ordered was a fuel pressure regulator. I am going to try this and see if it fixes the problem.
Am I missing anything else? :hissy:

My friend, I think your throwing money at it without figuring out the problem.

All of the things you have, or about to, replace can be tested in the vehicle. All are easy to test and expensive to replace.

Give us more info.

At this point, I think the problem happens when the truck is hot and has been turned off for 5 minutes (length of time it takes to add gas).
I'll bet, it always works when cold and it will always start if it is hot and sits for awhile, say 1/2 hr or more.

So, drive to the gas bar (or = distance) and park the truck. Try to restart after a few minutes, you will probably have the problem.

If you do, you should be looking at something like an injector leaking and flooding the engine.

Running a bottle of injector cleaner ( Techron or Seafoam come to mind) should help if you haven't done it in a while.:m2:

start no

with my 06 it would start but you had to hold the key in the manual position (not using the auto start feature) then the gas gauge would do weird stuff like saying it was 1/2 full even after just filling up then it would drop down to empty and just move all over the place...... after you burned off a gallon r 2 all was well until the next fill up....and the same thing all over again

And was this fixed? Did you have a new sending unit installed?

Ok I finally broke down and took the TB to the stealership. I found a coupon for free diagnostic at the Chevy Dealer. I put my original PCM in and they hooked it up to the computer and could not find any problems. Then they checked the TSBs, they found a TSB that related to the same problem I was having. Its a purge valve off the motor, not a leaky injector thank goodness. Injectors are not cheap for this.
Anyway all said and done. 1/2 hour labor and part ($35) was a total of $85. I also did the evap purge valve that I got off acdelcoparts.com.
Now I can finally get gas and it will start up correctly. :woot:

Nah

FYI- Your post is pretty condescending in its' tone. Anyway, that's not the case. Mine does the same thing. Only when getting gas. Not when driving and turning off for a few minutes. Just when getting gas.
