I am having front end suspension work done today. Mechanic said upper control arm bushings are bad so replacing. Said ball joints are good. Car has 185K miles on it, so wondering if they should be replaced anyway?
Edit: OK never mind, was told that the kit comes with ball joints.

Mine is 4WD, still running the upper ball joints and bushings at 260K.

Lower ball joints were replaced last summer. Worn, but not sloppy loose.

You guys must not live in Michigan. My Moog parts last about 50k or two years before I can feel the play in the steering wheel.

Don't even get me started on wheel bearings. And yes I'm talking about the gm genuines. These roads truly are disgraceful.

Running over a curb here at 30mph is no biggie compared to some of these potholes.

I will say these trucks have some SERIOUSLY strong suspension. I ran over a deer once at 80mph. Felt like I ran over a curb at 80. I've never felt anything like it. Went right over and kept driving straight.

My catalytic converter mysteriously clogged in less than a week after that incident.
