Selector knob is in 2H. In one case it switched itself into 4 wheel drive on its own. Light comes on about once a week. Turns itself off when truck is restarted as a rule.Truck has about 191000 miles on it. Live in Phoenix AZ. Hardly ever use 4 wheel drive. Have seen some dialog to check electrical connections. Would it hurt anything to remove the fuse to the TCCM and disable the 4 wheel drive?

Before you do anything, while truck is off, cycle the 4WD switch thru all of its positions numerous times. The switch may have intermittent contacts.
Removing the ATC fuse will disable the TCCM.

Thanks for your reply. I will try that. If it does not work and I choose to remove the fuse disabling the 4WD (TCCM) does that hurt anything? Will the service 4WD light remain on?
