I bought a 03 Envoy, ran fine upon test drive. 210,000 miles. 2 days later, starts sounding like it doesn't want to shift into higher gears, rpms up over 3000 and sounds like winding. Occasionally lights dim when it is acting up. Sometimes if I release gas pedal when wont shift, it will help, not always. Tranny fluid full and clean. Engine oil clean, apparently engine oil change right before purchase, as there is new filter as well. Hoping for maybe vacuum hose issue or sensor, took to auto zone, put on machine, do not have sheet with me, but what I remember, intake manifold gasket leak, misfire cylinder 4, too rich of oil/gas. I replaced #4 spark plug, looked fine, replaced #4 coil pack. Still doing same thing, I can baby it to 40-50 mph, keeping rpms under 2000 but it is VERY slow getting there. Does this sound familiar to anyone or does anyone have any ideas for me? My mechanic is away hunting for another day or two. Thanks! Michelle Ps, I have the gaskets ready to change, but I don't know if that could cause all of this.
