Basically i bought a non running 4x4 envoy. The transmission needs rebuilt so i started working on it then was curious as too where the quarts and quarts of oil all over the bottom of the engine came from. Found a tiny hole in the bottom of the front differential that i have no doubt is what...

Hey everybody! Before posting here; I did my due diligence and search around. However, I could not find exactly what I am looking for. 04TB A4WD would have the occasional dinging noise here and there from a detached CV axle and obliterated race + bearing. Finally gave this repair a shot, only...

I am looking to straight swap out the 3.42 to a 4.10 differential on my 2005 TBZ LS.. my question is what else do i need besides the front and rear differential from the 4.10?

Hello all, I'm new to the forums and would like to say hi. I have a 2005 Trailblazer LS with the I6 4.2L and it has 4WD and AWD on the instrument panel. So I jacked it up put it on stands and removed the rear brakes and realized the backing plates are rusted and wasted. So I decided to drop...

Has anyone removed the front differential on a V8 Envoy? Can it be removed without pulling the oil pan? Thanks in advance!!!

2007 Envoy SLT 4x4 The video below shows exactly what is going on with my Envoy. I have checked the parts diagram and there is a bearing on the left side of the differential where the CV shaft inserts into. Issue: Whiny/grinding noise like a bearing has gone out. Put both front wheels up off...

I purchased my 2002 Trailblazer LTZ with 85k in september, and once it began snowing I realized my 4wd isn't working. I went through all the diagnostics and found that my transfer case works fine and engages, yet my front diff got no power. My front actuator works fine, so next I was going to...

I went through all the diagnostics and found that my transfer case works fine and engages, yet my front diff got no power. My front actuator works fine, so next I was going to take apart...

My '02 Envoy XL developed a slow oil leak on the rear differential. It was due for a lube change so I order a new gasket and change the oil. Cleaned the cover and replaced the gasket/seal, refilled w/ new Mobile1. The leak continues, it appears the cover has a pin hole where the GM part...

The front differential on my 2003 Bravada went out. I had brought to local mechanic who ive went to before. After 3 weeks or so I got a phone call yesterday. The mechanic said that its finished. I went and paid for it, $1200 for diff and labor. Pulling out of mechanics parking lot about 1/4 mile...

Any opinions on using red grease in the front differential on an '02 TB? The theory is the thicker grease won't leak out as profusely as the standard gear oil. I've used the lucas gear oil with good results, but it still leaks especially when it gets hot in 4wd driving in the snow.

Hey wrench heads, need some opinions before I start throwing parts at it. 03 Tb LS I6, 185000miles. The sound(rumble) starts at low speed and increases on acceleration and rumble stays consistent at 50 and above. No vibration in steering wheel, but rumble after 40mph feels like subs bumping...

After reading several posts on this site, it's apparent the bearing in the front, passenger side axle disconnect has a tendency to go bad for lack of grease. An entire unit is around $500. Has anybody tried to remove the bearing itself and replace it? Sure would be nice to do that instead of...

My girlfriend's Envoy has no fluid in the front differential. I discovered this during my first check of all the fluids and I didn't see any obvious signs of leakage, so who knows how long it has been like this. Obviously I will fill the damn thing back up asap. In the meantime, I have 2...

this is my first time posting so excuse me if I make some mistakes, so here is the problem the front tires spin wont spin when I put the truck into a4wd, 4hi or 4lo, I do not have a 4x4 service light and I can hear the 4x4 engaging underneath the truck, so the first thing I tried was I replaced...

Hello, I have a 04 trailblazer with 130,000 miles on it. Last week I replaced my radiator and water pump and added a transmission cooler, because it has been running hot (over 210) it’s been doing this for the past 3 summers and I have previously replaced the thermostat and fan clutch and it’s...

I've been lucky enough to fix quite a few problems based on TrailVoy posts, but I've run into a unique situation that I haven't been able to find in the search results. This is for a 2005 Buick Rainier with the 5.3L engine, A4WD NVG 126 transfer case and non-locking front differential. Milage...

As I'm sure you guys know our front differential case uses 7.25" ring...JUUUST small enough that we can't get a limited slip differential (LSD) based on what's universally available. However, as I'm planning to do more autocrossing in my AWD TBSS, I've determined that having an open diff up...
